About the film maker

D.A. HansenDavid has worked extensively as a researcher, director, writer, editor, cinematographer and media lecturer. His works have screened across the globe on television and in film festivals in Australia, Spain, Denmark, Canada and the USA. In 2005, he was awarded Best Documentary from Film Victoria (High Infidelity). In 2009, his satirical short film Blowback was awarded Best Political Film at the Sydney Underground Film Festival. In 2010, David was named a finalist in the ATOM awards and the National Drug and Alcohol Awards for his work in North East Arnhem Land. In 2011, he won ‘Best Indigenous Resource’ at the prestigious ATOM awards. David is currently undertaking a Masters by research investigating collaborative filmmaking techniques in remote communities.
